At Manulife John Hancock, we believe in investing in the future, starting with you. Our Business Operations & Executive Reporting Co-op is your launchpad to success, offering the support, structure, and exciting opportunities you need to thrive and make your mark.

Are you an enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student looking to gain hands-on experience in executive reporting, strategic planning, governance, and business operations? In this role, you'll join the Professional Practices Chief of Staff team within Audit and Advisory Services, where you'll support leadership reporting, performance insights, executive communications, and strategic initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with stakeholders across the Audit function, and gain exposure to how senior leaders drive organizational priorities and performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of executive presentations, leadership updates, briefing materials, and strategic communications for senior leaders.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting materials.
  • Coordinate activities related to strategic initiatives and transformation projects, including tracking milestones, documenting progress, and supporting project governance activities.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, executive summaries, and follow-up actions for leadership forums and cross-functional working groups.
  • Track priorities, action items, and deliverables across multiple initiatives to help ensure timely execution and alignment.
  • Analyze data and business information to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to gather information, support decision-making, and drive project outcomes.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, workflow efficiency, and team effectiveness through automation, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, business practices, operational processes, and organizational effectiveness to support strategic planning activities.
  • Contribute to special projects and emerging priorities in a fast-paced environment where responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, draw insights, and make practical observations from data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize information and present ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and proactive, with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in or previous experience related to internal audit, risk management, governance, strategy, reporting, consulting, data analytics, or financial services.
  • Experience preparing presentations, analyzing data, coordinating projects, or supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  • Interest in executive communications, storytelling with data, performance reporting, process improvement, Power BI, automation, or GenAI tools.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
  • You’ll gain exposure to executive reporting, governance processes, strategic planning, performance measurement, and leadership decision-making.
  • As part of our co-op program, you will gain early access to Manulife John Hancock’s premier early talent program, GRO, tailored to graduating students! This program is designed to launch your career with the support, structure, and opportunities you need to thrive.
