Building connections through our team

The connection between our company and our community is a key part of our culture.  This starts with our Employees. We support northern communities and are actively involved in events throughout the year. Here are some of the ways our employees stay connected to each other and to their communities.

Walk to Tuk

Our team has walked over 9948 km in the last six years to support northern mental health.

Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay

On June 15th, 2019, 300 teams raced from Haines Junction to Haines, Alaska. Eight of them were part of the Old Cranks and New Spokes relay team for Northwestel. There’s nothing like a good challenge to get our team in gear! This amazing race has brought together riders from across Canada and the USA since 1992. Be part of the team next year!

National Indigenous Peoples Day

We proudly celebrate the cultures and contributions of our Indigenous colleagues, customers, and partners across the north. There are over 700 kilometers of marked trails for walking, biking, and cross-country skiing. The Yukon River runs right through the downtown for kayaking, boating, and fishing.

Nunavut

Nunavut is unique. Known for being remote, with wide expanses of arctic tundra, many communities are only accessible by boat or plane. But it’s not all like that. In cities like Iqaluit, you’ll find a range of dining options, cafés, and world class art. In Nunavut, experience unique arctic national parks, wildlife, traditional games and sports, and thriving arts and culture.
