Job Description

ONxpress Transportation Partners (OTP) was chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project – the largest project in Metrolinx’s GO Expansion. Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. ONxpress Operations Inc. (OOI) has been engaged by OTP to manage and oversee the efficient and effective operations and maintenance of the GO Trains and Union Pearson Express.

As a System Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring the system performance of IT applications related to train operations to prevent disruptions. You will be troubleshooting incidents as L2 support, maintaining a knowledge base related to IT applications, and participating in change management processes. You will also be communicating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient train operations.

Responsibilities

•    Analyze and assess the current systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
•    Collaborate with various groups to maintain Rail Operations IT Systems.
•    Respond promptly to incidents and service requests related to network and system issues.
•    Conduct in troubleshooting to identify the root cause of problems and implement appropriate solutions by collaborating with various groups. 
•    Work closely with Service Desk team collaboratively on resolution of incidents.
•    Develop documentation, provide technical support and system availability for function and training team to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in IT systems. (procedural updates). 
•    Participate in change management processes to plan and implement changes effectively.
•    Ensure compliance with safety, security, and emergency management policies.
•    Participate in an on-call rotation. 

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Certifications or Designations 
•    Azure/AWS certifications is preferred

Experience     
•    2-3 Experience working with information technology and systems analysis
•    Has history of successfully working with operations technology, ideally in the Rail industry. 
•    Experienced in generating process documentation and reports.

Competencies 
•    Ability to lead daily scrums and participate in root cause analysis.
•    Proven experience in system and data analysis.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
•    Knowledge in IVU.rail and Treno Suite software is preferred.
•    Knowledge in cloud computing (Azure/AWS), API (Application Program Interfaces) Integration, and systems integrations is preferred.
•    Knowledge on lean principles, agile method and modern forms of collaboration (BizDevOps).
•    High customer benefit orientation.
•    Fluency in English and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including senior management.
