Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Buyer in the Oil & Gas / Energy industry in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a contract position through the end of December 2026 in Redwater. Contract duration: September to December 2026 (chance of extension) A day in the life: Develop, execute, administer, and follow up on Purchase Orders and contracts. Review requisitions and scopes of work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Execute procurement activities in accordance with Supply Chain Management policies, procedures, and plans. Establish and maintain appropriate controls and processes for the acquisition of goods and services. Ensure procurement activities comply with corporate policies, risk and insurance requirements, government regulations, and applicable standards. Develop demand plans with internal client groups and collaborate with planning teams to ensure materials and spare parts are procured and expedited on time. Support the procurement of inventory items, including spare parts and chemicals.Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and make purchasing recommendations. Assist with sourcing engineered and fabricated items for maintenance and site projects. You bring: 7+ years of procurement experience in an operating environment, preferably supporting Maintenance, Turnaround, and small capital/site projects. Strong procurement, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills. University degree and/or professional certification such as SCMP is preferred. Strong knowledge of procurement across materials, engineered/fabricated items, and services. Proven experience negotiating complex agreements involving multiple stakeholders.
