Who we’re looking for:

A Sr. Storage Specialist whose Primary focus is NetApp Storage and all components as our environment consists mainly with NetApp supporting our VMware environment that is key.

 

The second focus for this role is our backup strategy Commvault. Having a good understanding of configuration, implementation and support is key to the role.

 

After the two primary functions of this role is a good understanding of the underlying areas mentioned here VMware, vSAN, VCF,NSX, running on various platforms such as Cisco UCS ,HP, IBM, Lenovo a knowledge of the hardware is advantageous.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for delivering patch management and related security agents to all Netapp Filers
  • Accountable for reporting and service metrics including analytics, capacity, and performance of the storage environment as requested by leadership
  • Participate in triage and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in establishing an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) for career development.
  • Provides infrastructure technology platform expertise in the delivery of Rogers technology projects and initiatives.
  • Provide 3rd tier level support to Server Operations, teams with incidents and issues related to Netapp Storage and other infrastructure platforms.
  • Participation as a key member of the Vulnerability Management program team.
  • Creating and maintaining support documentation for processes like patching and hardware deployment.
  • Assisting with the identification of storage assets, versions, patch levels, agent status.  
  • Maintaining ongoing compliance reporting for application of agents and patches to support the various projects within the program.
  • Serving as an escalation resource and representing the team on infrastructure and application integration issues as related to installs of agents, patching deployments, or any other project related work.
  • Supporting the infrastructure environment through standard ITSM Processes.
  • Provides input based on technical expertise and has a strong understanding of industry’s best practices.

 

What you bring:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with end users, team members, other groups and vendors.
  • Keen interest and understanding of Security and Cyber Security concepts, and how they pertain to the infrastructure landscape.
  • Knowledge of and experience using and supporting NetApp
  • Ability to Independently take on work to deliver the enterprise program which require a strong understanding of core concepts in Vmware, NetApp Storage and backup Technologies.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting/support, and an ability to stay calm under pressure.  
  • May be expected to engage on Service Requests/Incident/Changes/Problems that are escalated to the team in ServiceNow both regarding program activities and regular day-to-day as time permits.
  • After business hours or evening or weekend shifts of work may be required as patching is often completed after hours for systems/servers.
  • Participate in team On-Call Rotations (24 x7) and workday escalations involving complex problem-solving for incident resolution.
