Position Summary:

The part-time Farm Markets Barista/Cashier supports daily market operations by assisting customers at checkout, general merchandising and occasional food production, maintaining a clean and organized work area and providing general help with setup, stocking, and customer service.

This role combines excellent customer service with barista/cashier skills to create a welcoming, community-focused experience for market visitors. This role is key to creating a friendly, efficient, and welcoming market experience.

As a Part-Time Farm Markets Barista/Cashier your primary responsibilities are to:

• Greet customers and provide excellent service in a friendly, professional manner.
• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, drip coffee, cold brew, teas, and specialty beverages.
• Operate coffee equipment (espresso machine, grinders, brewers) safely and efficiently.
• Operate the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system to process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit/debit transactions, and maintain accurate sales records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized area.
• Answer customer questions about products, pricing, and availability.
• Support team members with restocking, product display, and other general tasks as needed.
• General merchandising and occasional food production.
• Keep your working area, equipment, and serving area clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards.
• Work as part of a small team to ensure smooth operations during market hours.

You will be a great match if you have these skills and experience:

• Previous barista or cashier, retail, or customer service experience an asset (training provided).
• Friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with customers with strong communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work through the week or on weekends as required.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Food handler certification or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Pay Rate- $17.60 hourly
