Purpose

 

The Manager, Analytics is responsible for leading a high-performing team of analytics professionals to deliver actionable insights that drive business strategy and performance across Scotiabank. This role partners with senior stakeholders to solve complex business challenges, advance data-driven decision-making, and identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and operational excellence. Through strong leadership, analytical expertise, and strategic thinking, the Manager, Analytics transforms data into meaningful business outcomes while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & Team Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with business goals.


Strategic Analytics & Insights:

Deliver high-impact analytics, reporting, dashboards, and data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
Translate complex business challenges into analytical solutions that drive measurable results.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance and customer outcomes.


Stakeholder Partnership:

Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders across Retail, Wealth, Risk, Finance, and other key functions.
Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, success measures, and actionable strategies.
Communicate insights through compelling data storytelling and executive-level presentations.


Data & Analytics Excellence:

Champion data quality, governance, and compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Technology, Data Governance, and Engineering teams to enhance data accessibility and analytics capabilities.
Drive innovation through advanced analytics, automation, predictive modeling, and emerging technologies.


Operational Excellence:

Improve and scale analytics processes, tools, and reporting solutions.
Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery of analytical insights and business intelligence.


Technical Skills:

Advanced SQL and data querying expertise.
Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
Knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud-based analytics environments.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling.


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
Master's degree (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) is an asset.
5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
2+ years of people leadership or demonstrated experience leading analytical initiatives.
Financial services or banking experience is preferred.
