The Senior Manager, Operational Risk Oversight will contribute to the overall success of Global Risk Management Corporate & Support Function (CSF) Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Oversight, globally. They are responsible for providing advisory and healthy challenges in the CSF and Global Transaction Banking’s (GTB) operational risk management practices, including the effective execution of all Operational Risk Management Framework tools in complying with the relevant operational risk policies and standards as well as ensuring proactive management of the top and emerging risks as identified.

 

Is this role right for you?  In this role, you will:

 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Design, build, and continually improve the Non-Financial Risk relationship management model for CSF and GTB partners.
  • Serve as the primary reporting, insights, and communication channel coordinator for CSF NFR activities.
  • Coordinate the collection, synthesis, quality assurance, and distribution of risk intelligence, ensuring that CSF and GTB CRO and leadership receive timely, accurate, and decision-ready NFR insights for each risk domain.
  • Serve as the designated second-line-of-defence (2LOD) for CSF and GTB, providing independent oversight and effective challenge across the full Non-Financial Risk program.
  • Perform the Operational Risk Management 1B (ORM 1B) function on behalf of Global Risk Management (GRM).
  • Act as the embedded risk partner within GRM, executing first-line-adjacent responsibilities that ensure GRM’s own operational risk profile is proactively managed.
  • Act as the Global central NFR contact and relationship manager for CSFs and GTB, ensuring comprehensive oversight and partnership across all nine relationships
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Engineering or Science discipline preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset.
  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, MSc Risk Management) or professional designation (FRM, CRM, CPA, CFA) is an asset
  • 5+ years experience in business management, internal control, risk management, compliance, audit or related areas
  • Experience engaging with and providing risk oversight to one or more Control and Support Functions (Finance, HR, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Strategy & Operations, Risk Management) is an asset
  • Familiarity with Global Transaction Banking products, processes, and associated risk profile is an asset
  • Experience designing and maintaining structured risk reporting frameworks and communication channels
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong collaborator and skillful in stakeholder management
