We are currently seeking casual on call Photo Radar Operators to support operations within Calgary Police Service Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit. This respected, high‑responsibility role is essential in ensuring safety, security, and operational continuity.

About the Role

In this position, you will support traffic enforcement initiatives by operating photo radar equipment at designated locations throughout Calgary. You will be responsible for setting up and operating enforcement units, documenting violations, maintaining accurate records and notes, and ensuring equipment is functioning properly and producing high-quality images. You may also be required to provide testimony in Provincial Court regarding your observations and documentation.

What You Bring

  • Proof of High School Diploma or GED (or IQAS/WES if completed outside of Canada)
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Driver’s License, Class 5 (non-GDL)
  • Clean driver’s abstract with no demerits
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry and report-writing abilities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Calgary Police Service Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced and changing environments
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Visual acuity required for monitoring equipment and reviewing image quality
  • Ability to safely transport, set up, and operate enforcement equipment

Working Conditions

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold
  • Requirement to attend Provincial Court proceedings when scheduled
  • Casual, on-call schedule with varied shifts based on operational requirements
