Position Summary:

The Chaplaincy Leader is a Christ-centered person with a deep commitment to the Catholic faith. In collaboration with the principal, the chaplaincy leader provides for the ministries of the sacraments, presence, accompaniment, interpretation, celebration, and witness. This role plans liturgical and faith-based activities, provides pastoral support and counselling for school community, builds intentional relationships, and connects school, home, and parish.

What you bring to the team:

  • Completion of Diploma or Certificate in Religious Ministry.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Chaplaincy, Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, or Counselling.
  • Involvement in Catholic parish and/or Catholic community work.
  • Committed to personal and professional development.
  • Excellent Catholic leadership and Pastoral ministry skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to perform accurate and detailed work.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
  • Catholic Liturgy
  • Catholic Teaching
  • Code of Conduct: Catholic School Chaplains of Ontario (CSCO)
  • Pastoral Letter on Catholic Secondary School Chaplaincy (ACBO)
  • Renewing the Promise: A Pastoral Letter for Catholic Education (ACBO/ICE)

Shares and receives information and ideas in a variety of ways and adapts to the needs of the audience to ensure the message is understood.

Creates, develops and implements new processes or services with the aim of improving the learning community for all.
