Stand-Alone Campus:
As a condition of employment, Faculty at NSCC must complete a part-time adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status, all probationary, full or part-time Faculty of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Faculty whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
As a condition of employment for this position, successful applicants are required to provide verification of their Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) licence, a record of their up-to-date immunizations (including COVID-19), along with a Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) with Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Child Abuse Register (CAR) search prior to starting employment. Any cost incurred in obtaining these will be at the applicant's expense. Candidates will not be discriminated against on the basis of their background check. Our practice is to assess the criminal offence against the requirements of the position; not eliminate a candidate from consideration based on any criminal offence.
Please note that candidates are required to maintain an active practising nursing licence as a condition of employment and must inform NSCC if they are charged, if their nursing licence is suspended, or if any conditions or restrictions are placed on their licence at any time after submitting their VSS with CRC and CAR.
Candidates selected for interviews will be expected to provide at least three recent occupational references. The successful candidate will be expected to provide official transcripts to show proof of academic achievements.

This is a designated competition open to individuals who self-identify as Mi'kmaw and/or Indigenous. Candidates who self-identify as Mi'kmaw will be given priority.
This position consists of a combination of online (synchronous and/or asynchronous) and in-person classes, in-person skill labs and clinical placements at the Pictou campus.
The salary scale for NSCC Faculty is based on steps that range from $78,771.88 - $104,267.58. New Faculty may receive up to a maximum of five steps for relevant occupational experience and may receive up to an additional four steps for full-time equivalent years of instructional experience (instructional experience is defined as teaching post-secondary). The maximum a new Faculty can expect to receive is nine steps or $97,388.02.
