We are currently seeking a Full-Time Security Guard to support operations at a Government Site. This respected, high‑responsibility role is essential in maintaining safety, security, and professionalism within a sensitive and structured public-sector environment. About the Role

In this position, you will perform a combination of reception, access control, monitoring, and periodic patrol duties in a government facility. This is primarily a desk‑based role requiring strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail. You will follow established security protocols, interact with the public and government staff, and respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations.

What You Bring

  • Valid Alberta Security License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual in English and French (verification conducted internally)
  • Must be an NMSO Veteran
  • Driver’s License, Class 5
  • Ability to obtain a reliability clearance (minimum 5 years of Canadian residency required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Comfortable operating computers and security equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily in a seated position
  • Ability to conduct periodic indoor patrols
  • Ability to climb or descend stairs as required
  • Ability to remain alert and focused throughout scheduled shifts

Working Conditions

  • Government facility with controlled access
  • Mix of desk‑based reception duties and light patrolling
  • Monday to Friday, 0800–1630, with half hour unpaid lunch
  • Indoor environment with occasional movement throughout the facility
