The Energy Operations division is responsible for leasing and maintaining Alberta’s Crown mineral rights and for calculating, assessing, collecting, and reconciling royalty revenues from natural gas, natural gas liquids, helium, conventional oil, oil sands, coal, and metallic and industrial minerals on behalf of Albertans. In addition, the division looks after Petrinex, which is a key volumetric reporting system for industry and western Canada.
The Royalty Operations branch is responsible for accurate and timely calculation, assessment, collection and reconciliation of natural gas and conventional oil royalty. The branch is one of the primary drivers of revenue within the department, fostering relationships with the natural gas and oil industry, providing exceptional client service to ensure reporting for royalty purposes is accurate and in compliance with legislation and business rules.
Alberta Energy and Minerals has two available opportunities for experienced individuals looking to work within the Royalty Operations branch. We are seeking two (2) detail oriented and motivated Operational Analysts to join the Volumetric & Cost Reporting Unit and the Royalty Accounting Unit.
This role reports to the Director, Strategic Partnerships in Petrinex and support work conducted in the Royalty Operations branch . Due to the changing nature of industry business, Royalty Operation’s work environment promotes teamwork and flexibility. You will be responsible for providing excellent front line client services to stakeholders in accordance with Royalty Operation’s operational processes and regulations. Success in this role will be driven by your ability to understand client needs and cultivate strong, professional relationships through effective communication. You demonstrate a proven capacity to collaborate with colleagues, manage multiple priorities, and analyze data to develop well-founded recommendations. Adaptability and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment are essential.
You bring a high level of attention to detail, complemented by strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In this capacity, you will contribute to a team responsible for the accurate assessment, levy, and collection of natural gas Crown royalties in Alberta.
