About the Role
As a Security Guard assigned to Lethbridge sites, you play a
vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and
the public. This includes patrolling premises, controlling access, responding
to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service.
This role requires professionalism, strong situational
awareness, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. You
will work in diverse environments while representing Commissionaires with
integrity and respect.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Legally
entitled to work in Canada with minimum 5 years of residency
- Valid
Alberta Security Guard License
- Valid
Standard or Emergency First Aid certification
- Class
5 (Non‑GDL) Driver’s License with clean abstract
- Fluent
in English (verbal, written, and reading)
- Strong
interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability
to remain calm and effective during emergencies
- Ability
to use computers, phones, and digital reporting tools
Assets
- Former
RCMP or military service
- Military
family background
- Education
or training in law enforcement
Key Responsibilities
- Control
access to buildings; issue passes and direct or escort visitors
- Conduct
foot and/or vehicle patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and fire hazards
- Enforce
site rules and resolve conflicts professionally
- Monitor
premises using security control‑room equipment and technology
- Communicate
effectively using radios, reporting systems, and digital tools
- Respond
to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations
- Follow
established safety and emergency protocols, including evacuations
- Provide
clear, respectful, and professional customer service
- Maintain
accurate written reports and incident logs
Physical Requirements
- Ability
to stand, sit, walk, and climb stairs for prolonged periods
- Ability
to work indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather
- Ability
to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability
to remain alert and attentive throughout long shifts
Working Conditions
- 12‑hour
shifts, Days and Nights, Weekends
- Work
may occur indoors or outdoors depending on site requirements
- Exposure
to varying weather conditions
- Additional
duties may be assigned based on operational needs
