Your Responsibilities
• You’ll review and edit documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall readability while maintaining original meaning
• You’ll ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and style across a variety of materials
• You’ll apply and uphold house style guidelines, including formatting of headings, references, and editorial elements
• You’ll verify names, titles, and hyperlinks to ensure accuracy and functionality
• You’ll collaborate with authors to clarify content and resolve editorial queries before final submission
• You’ll use Track Changes in Word and annotation tools in Excel and PowerPoint to document edits clearly
Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of professional copy editing experience, ideally in a non-profit or publishing environment
• Exceptional command of English grammar, punctuation, and editorial standards
• Proven ability to apply and maintain detailed house style guidelines
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on consistency and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including Track Changes, with working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
