We are currently partnering with a well-established, employee-owned Canadian general contractor known for delivering complex, large-scale ICI (industrial, commercial, institutional) construction projects across Ontario and Alberta. Position Overview
The Project Scheduler will play a key role in developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules, working closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure timelines are met and projects are delivered successfully. This position will primarily support projects in the Ottawa region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and manage baseline, master, and detailed project schedules
- Collaborate with project teams to define milestones, sequencing, and resource allocation
- Identify critical path activities and assess schedule risks and impacts
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates, forecasts, and reporting
- Proactively identify delays or conflicts and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct schedule analysis, including what-if scenarios and contingency planning
- Ensure accuracy, version control, and alignment with overall project objectives
- Communicate schedule updates clearly with internal teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction scheduling experience, ideally within ICI projects
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- Experience working on complex commercial, institutional, or infrastructure builds
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, critical path methodology, and project controls
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent experience preferred
