About the Opportunity
Our client in the retail sector is seeking a Technology Project Manager to lead large-scale store technology initiatives, with a key focus on a national Self-Checkout refresh program. This role sits at the intersection of technology and operations, ensuring modern, efficient systems are deployed seamlessly across multiple locations.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including store operations, field teams, and vendors to deliver impactful technology upgrades that directly enhance the customer and in-store experience. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of Self-Checkout refresh initiatives across multiple store locations
• In this role, you’ll manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful execution
• You’ll coordinate hardware procurement, installation, and infrastructure deployment with internal teams and vendors
• You’ll partner with business stakeholders to align technology solutions with operational needs
• You’ll drive issue resolution during rollout while minimizing disruption to store operations
• You’ll oversee installation validation, documentation, and project close-out activities
Skills and Qualifications
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in technology or infrastructure project management
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting, and financial tracking
• Experience with retail front-end systems or point-of-sale (POS) technologies highly desirable
• Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure concepts and best practices
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
• Demonstrated experience managing stakeholders and third-party vendors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong reporting capabilities
• PMP or CAPM certification is considered an asset
