Nestled atop the 12^th floor, in Calgary’s vibrant west-end, overlooking the majestic Bow River, Bow & Bend brings the outdoors in as the Bow’s gentle bends mirror the tranquility of this signature 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar. At its core are the finest culinarians and mixologists eagerly waiting to fulfill our customers’ dreams of an indulgent and refined dining experience. At Bow & Bend, we provide warm and attentive service in a visually stunning environment with an artfully crafted menu, embracing eco-conscious practices, through conscious choices and initiatives.

ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are in search of a warm and engaging professional Restaurant Server, responsible for greeting customers, providing the best possible dining experience, including running their customers’ appetizers, mains, drinks, and desserts, while also properly illustrating each menu offering, according to the standards of Bow & Bend.

Primary accountabilities include:

• Consistently providing the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our team.
• Checking assigned station prior to opening for cleanliness of tables, chairs, and floor; proper set-up of salt and pepper, sugar, etc.
• Completing assigned side duties.
• Attending stand up and/or taste panel and being aware of daily specials, soups, drinks, having knowledge of all menu items, their garnish, etc.
• Being prepared to answer questions from customers on menu items (preparation, etc.).
• Following procedure to take customer orders; writing legibly on checks, properly pre-ringing checks using modifiers, seat numbers, tables, etc.
• Following procedures regarding proper service of all food items, food from expediter, etc.
• Ensuring tables in all stations are properly bussed through the meal.
• When clearing and resetting tables, following proper procedures for handling China, glass and silver.
• Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following all sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations.

ABOUT YOU

• A seasoned professional with serving experience in a large, upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city center.
• Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
• Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
• Good knowledge of wine and wine pairings.
• Valid ProServe certification.
• Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 20 pounds or more.
