Now Hiring: Garbage Truck Driver – Make a Difference Every Day Agilus is recruiting for several Garbage Truck Drivers in the Waste Management sector in Amherst, Nova Scotia. We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Garbage Truck Driver to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transport of residential and/or commercial waste while providing courteous service to the community. Total rewards: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly Weekly pay + 4% vacation pay Competitive pay with overtime opportunities Monday to Friday shifts Responsibilities: Operate garbage and recycling trucks safely and in compliance with all traffic and safety regulations Collect, transport, and unload waste materials along assigned routes Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues Maintain accurate route and service logs Work closely with helpers/loaders to ensure efficient operations Follow company policies, environmental regulations, and workplace safety procedures Successful candidates will have: Valid Class 1 drivers license with a clean driving abstract Prior experience driving large or heavy vehicles required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work in all weather conditions At least 3 years of Canadian driving experience Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Strong safety awareness and attention to detail Reliable transportation (not on bus route) This posting is for an active opening.
