Agilus is recruiting for a Quality Engineer in the plastics industry in Burlington, Ontario.
The Quality Engineer will ensure that product quality meets strict dimensional, functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements and specifications set by the Company and Customers while maintaining a stable, repeatable manufacturing process particularly from the initial mould validation to high-volume production. Develop, validate, and maintain testing methods, procedures, and equipment.

$75000.00 - $132000.00 annually
Annual Salary range is based on years of experience - 2-4 years experience: $75,000 to $102,000; 4-7 years experience: $88,000 to $132,000

A typical day:
New Product Introduction & Validation - Participate in plant activities related to new product development, redesign, colour, mould and part qualification (BNA projects)
Conduct dimensional analysis using CMM (DeMeet), vision systems, and manual metrology tools to ensure parts meet Customer and Company specifications
Develop and implement product testing standards and methods
Prepare and present technical data to interdisciplinary groups internally and externally highlighting key findings and implications
Ensure all new and existing testing and measuring equipment critical to product quality and food safety are validated, maintained, verified, and calibrated according to OEM recommendations and Company standards
Support internal and external/customer complaint investigations and continuous improvement (CI) projects, applying a structured logical data-driven process (PDCA, DMAIC) using problem solving techniques (7 QC tools, 5 Whys, A3, etc.)
Lead DOE (Design of Experiments) with production, process and maintenance teams in order to understand how machine settings affect critical-to-quality parameters, set standard operating limits and process windows
Successful candidates will have:
Mechanical/ Chemical/ Industrial Engineering Degree or Diploma
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma, and RJG or Paulson injection moulding certifications / training is preferred
5+ years of manufacturing or quality experience, preferably in the plastics injection moulding industry
Hands-on experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and CMM programming is preferred
Tooling and CAD knowledge is preferred
Demonstrated application of continuous improvement techniques
