Agilus is recruiting for a HR Manager in the Insolvency Sector in North York, ON, Ontario.
This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of Human Resources in a long-standing, entrepreneurial organization with approximately 70 employees. A typical day:
Take full ownership of the HR function as a stand-alone manager
Build, refine, and maintain HR processes so the “HR engine” runs smoothly
Manage full-cycle payroll through ADP, including vacation tracking and reporting
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding
Maintain HR systems and records in BambooHR or similar platforms
Act as a visible, day-to-day HR presence—handling conflicts and concerns directly
Lead performance reviews, documentation, and corrective action when required
Support workplace culture, morale, and engagement initiatives and events
Successful candidates will have:
4–5+ years of progressive HR experience (step-up or seasoned manager)
Proven experience supporting 40–70+ employees
Hands-on ADP payroll experience (required)
Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation
Confident, “firm but fair” approach with strong interpersonal judgment
Ability to manage strong personalities without being overly rigid or passive
Excellent written and verbal communication with polished professionalism
CHRP or CHRL designation strongly preferred
