About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly respected organization in the retail sector to hire two Project Managers, Construction who will oversee complex retail construction initiatives across Western Canada. In this role, you will guide new builds, expansions, interior fit-outs, renovations, and capital programs, ensuring that every project aligns with corporate standards, safety expectations, and stakeholder needs.
In this role, you will manage multiple retail construction projects simultaneously, including renovations, expansions and interior fit-outs within new builds. You will join a collaborative and fast-paced construction team dedicated to the Marks and SportChek banners. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple priorities, navigating detailed approval processes and driving construction excellence within a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities
- You'll oversee all aspects of assigned construction projects, ensuring they meet internal standards and the needs of Associate Dealers and stakeholders.
- You'll manage compliance with project procedures, metrics, corporate standards, building code, health and safety requirements, and quality controls.
- You'll collaborate with Store Planning, Real Estate, and Development teams to support site layouts, store designs, and municipal approvals.
- You'll establish project schedules, define milestone dates, and provide clear status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
- You'll support procurement activities, including consultant recommendations, contractor engagement, tender preparation, bid analysis, and contract development.
- You'll conduct site visits to review progress, ensure quality, assess phasing, and meet with Dealers and staff.
- You'll work with the estimating team to prepare cost estimates with an emphasis on Quality and Schedule.
- You'll manage project close-out activities, resolving warranty items and maintaining strong relationships with all partners.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 plus years of project management experience within retail, commercial, industrial, or institutional construction.
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management.
- Ability to travel 2 to 3 days per week.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and forecast project cost reports and assess project status through on site reviews.
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and a results oriented mindset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
- Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools.
