Position Summary
As part of our ever‑expanding workforce, Commissionaires Southern Alberta is seeking Casual Security Guards, with the potential for casual and part‑time employment.
Security Guards play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of clients, visitors, and property while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional presence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Control access to establishments, issue passes when required, and direct or escort visitors
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or in vehicles to deter theft, vandalism, and fire
- Provide excellent customer service, respond to inquiries, and offer directions to the public
- Enforce site regulations to maintain security and resolve conflicts
- Operate security control room equipment, including CCTV systems
- Use computers and electronic devices to communicate with team members and clients
- Follow clear radio communication and emergency procedures
- Ensure safety and emergency protocols are followed, responding to alarms, bomb threats, and other incidents
- Complete detailed incident reports as required

Position Requirements
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Alberta Security Services License
- Fluent in English (written, verbal, and reading comprehension)
- Valid First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, particularly for report writing
- Former RCMP, Military experience, or Military family member considered a strong asset
