Accounts Payable Analyst

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization in the retail industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst to join their finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial operations, supporting vendor relationships, and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
You’ll work closely with a collaborative accounting team, contributing to smooth day-to-day operations while helping improve processes in a high-volume environment. Your Responsibilities
- You’ll process utility, trade, and employee expense invoices, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and proper GL coding
- In this role, you’ll investigate discrepancies, resolve vendor inquiries, and support issue resolution across teams
- You’ll prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations
- You’ll reconcile vendor statements and general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accounted for
- You’ll contribute to process improvements by reviewing workflows and suggesting efficiency enhancements
- You’ll support cheque runs, reporting, and documentation while maintaining organized AP records
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume, computerized environment
- Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
- Experience with ERP systems such as Navision, along with strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Effective communication skills when working with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
