Agilus is recruiting for a Manufacturing Purchaser in the Automation & Robotics industry in Dorchester, Ontario.
The Purchaser completes a variety of administrative duties within the manufacturing shop to support smooth operation of Manufacturing Business Unit allowing the technical resources to function at maximum efficiency. Daily tasks include material acquisition, management of outsourcing, organizing machine maintenance, data collection and analysis, and more.
Total rewards:
$27.00 - $35.00 hourly
Mat leave coverage - 1 year contract

A typical day:
Procurement & Purchasing :
Source, quote, and purchase raw materials, tooling, consumables, and outsourced services and issue accurate purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt
Review internal and external BOMs and verify material requirements and maintain accurate vendor and purchasing information in the ERP system
Supplier & Customer Interaction :Maintain vendor relationships and develop alternate supply options and negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms to support cost control
Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery reliability, and responsiveness, escalating recurring issues and support internal and external customer requests and provide timely material updates
Quality & Documentation :Verify incoming materials meet ordered specifications and collect and file material certifications, packing slips, and traceability documents
Facilitate returns and non-conformances when necessary,
Manufacturing Support & Communication and respond quickly to urgent material needs
Proactively communicate lead times, risks, shortages, and delays, support process improvements within purchasing and material handling and maintain organized digital and physical records to meet quality standards
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field (diploma or degree preferred)
2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
Experience purchasing raw materials, tooling, consumables, and outsourced services
Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, vendor management, and inventory tracking
Ability to review technical requirements, certifications, and material specifications
Understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity constraints
