As part of the Institute of Technology, Akerley and Ivany Campuses (Metro Region) and reporting to the Manager of IT Operations and Service Delivery, you will:
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Possessing one or more of the following certifications would be considered an asset: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and/or Network+, A+, or AppleCare Technician.
This is an entry-level position. We welcome applications from recent graduates. One year of occupational experience, which includes planning, testing, and troubleshooting stand-alone and networked (wired and wireless) computer systems or recognized equivalencies, would be considered an asset.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 administration tools, Windows, Mac, and PC platforms, basic networking and troubleshooting (Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, TCP/IP), and hardware repair and troubleshooting.
Liaising with vendor partners.
IT procurement.
Client/Customer service.
Technology training.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge and committing to using technology to advance your work.
Experience with using a Service Desk ticketing system for managing and actioning requests and incidents would be considered an asset.
Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students in a post-secondary institution would be considered an asset.
A valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence is required.
