As part of our growing team, Commissionaires Southern Alberta is currently seeking an Identification Services / Fingerprint Technician (Part-Time).


Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Division Operations, the Identification Services / Fingerprint Technician is responsible for providing identification and fingerprinting services and processing records required for security clearance purposes. This role is customer-facing and requires a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform digital and manual fingerprinting services for applicants
  • Process Canadian Police Information Checks and related documentation
  • Prepare clearance certificates and notify clients when certificates are ready for pickup
  • Perform reception duties, including:
    • Checking in appointments
    • Processing applicants
    • Collecting fees and issuing receipts
  • Assist companies and individuals requesting criminal record information
  • Respond to incoming telephone calls and client emails
  • Maintain daily data sheets relating to client activity and prepare weekly reports regarding volume, revenue, and net revenue
  • Assist the Branch Administrator with:
    • Maintenance and control of clothing stores
    • Maintenance of employee personnel files
  • Perform other duties as required to meet organizational needs

Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Previous experience using fingerprint equipment (strong asset)
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and self-delegation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to maintain moderately complex records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada – Level 2 Security Clearance (mandatory)
  • Previous Military or RCMP experience is considered a strong asset
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service experience (preferred)

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Daytime hours (typically 0800–1600)
  • Part-time hours (scheduled based on operational requirements)
