About the Opportunity
Altis Recruitment is partnering with a well-established automotive retail organization to hire a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations at a busy dealership. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy across payroll, reporting, and transactional processes that keep the business running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- In this role, you’ll prepare monthly financial statements and support reporting requirements.
- You’ll process biweekly payroll for approximately 20 employees, including commission-based calculations.
- You’ll handle HST filings and ensure compliance with monthly CRA remittances.
- You’ll perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate inventory tracking for new and used vehicles.
- You’ll liaise with external accountants and support year-end reporting processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a hands-on environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including accruals and expense classification.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, or similar systems.
- Exposure to payroll processing and sales tax filings.
- Strong Excel and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- University Degree/College Diploma in Accounting strongly preferred.
- Experience in a retail or dealership environment is considered an asset.
