Agilus is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer – Capital Projects in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Lead to support a portfolio of large capital projects within the Fixed Plant Projects Portfolio. The overall accountability of this role is to provide technical oversight to the Engineering Service Provider to ensure Electrical designs are technically sound and meet requirements, standards, and best practices
Total rewards:
$85.00 - $110.00 hourly
T4 Range $85 - $93/hr IC Range is $95 - $110/hr
1 year contract with a potential to extend
Calgary full time office based role, M-F 40 hrs/week, occasional site travel as required
A typical day:
Provide guidance with respect to the interpretation and application of standards, procedures and specifications
Act as the primary point of contact for technical interface and integration with stakeholders (Operations, M&R, other functional groups / business units, etc.)
Participate in model reviews, vendor review meetings, Value Improvement sessions, and other integrated reviews like Overall Project Electrical scheme/strategy, Single Line reviews, plot plan, constructability etc.
Provide technical input for Value Improvement Assessments including review of vendor proposals, interface with vendors and EP, interface with Enterprise Technical group, Operations and other stakeholders, and participation in risk assessments
Pre-qualification technical analysis and support in selection of contractors and vendors, considering local preferences and approved vendor lists
Support vendor inspections, shop visits, and witnessing performance tests as required (business travel may be required
Review critical Material Requisitions (MRs) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs)
Review and approve engineering change management documents (Technical Deviations, Project Decision Notices, etc.)
Successful candidates will have:
Minimum 20 years of experience supporting large capital projects in oil & gas, energy, or industrial facilities along with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering designation with APEGA in the province of Alberta
Strong working knowledge of key industry standards (Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, etc.) a must
Previous experience providing owner-side technical oversight of Engineering Partners is an asset
Exposure to HV electrical design an asset
