Job Posting: Casual Security Officer Position, Dorchester, NB


Commissionaires NB&PEI Division is looking to hire mature and responsible team members in Dorchester, NB to work at a government facility.


Hours: 15 to 30 hours per week (as needed, on call), Mostly Mon- Fri 0800- 1600 with rare evening/weekend hours

Rate of Pay: $18.94 per hour plus $18.94 travel per shift

Benefits: Health, Vision, and Dental Benefits, Life Insurance and AD&D plans


The Role: The Security Officer is responsible for checking contractors into the site and escorting them to their worksite within the facility to ensure the protection of people, property, and information on the worksite.


We are seeking candidates with:

  • Physical fitness to perform extensive walking both interiorly and externally (including stairs) of the large facility – including standing or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Customer service experience
  • A positive approach to tasks

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate sound judgement
  • Able to acquire all needed security clearances to work in the facility

Bilingual (French/English) and Designated Veteran Status are both assets but not requirements for the position.
