About the Opportunity
As a Senior Desktop Support Specialist, your role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the branch’s IT infrastructure, supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, and network systems. You’ll play a key role in onboarding and offboarding users, maintaining hardware and software, and supporting technology resilience planning.
You will work closely with colleagues in the local IT team and infrastructure group to ensure systems run smoothly. Your Responsibilities
- You’ll provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- In this role, you’ll set up, configure, and maintain workstations, applications, and server systems, performing IT asset management, routine updates, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- You’ll assist with user onboarding and offboarding, manage system access rights, and maintain documentation for assets, processes, and IT procedures.
- You’ll support disaster and technology recovery initiatives, ensuring backups, hardware, and software are ready for testing.
- You’ll collaborate with internal staff and external vendors to procure, deploy, and maintain IT equipment across the branch and data center.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field required
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including desktop support and systems administration responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft server and client operating systems, Active Directory, SCCM, and vSphere.
- Hands on experience in IT asset management.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments an asset.
- Ability to work independently, plan ahead, document processes, and manage multiple support requests efficiently.
