About the Opportunity
Our client in the industrial manufacturing sector is seeking a proactive Staff Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. Your Responsibilities
You’ll prepare and post journal entries and perform detailed bank and general ledger reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting.
In this role, you’ll manage monthly Canadian sales tax filings, including GST and HST payments, reconciliations, and related remittances.
You’ll support financial reporting by preparing account analyses and resolving discrepancies across multiple entities.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate coding of invoices and expenses within SAP and internal systems.
You’ll assist with tax-related reporting and documentation, including support during government audits and regulatory filings.
You’ll handle occasional administrative tasks such as receiving office mail, coordinating courier shipments, and assisting with equipment returns.
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA designation in progress or willingness to pursue it
Hands-on experience working with SAP and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, and tax remittances such as GST/HST
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
