A recovery-oriented system of care is a coordinated network of personalized, community-based services for people at risk of or experiencing addiction and mental health challenges. It provides access to a full continuum of services and support, from prevention and intervention to treatment and recovery. The vision is for every Albertan to have the opportunity to pursue recovery and live a healthy and productive life.

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) is building Alberta’s new Compassionate Intervention (CI) program, supporting vulnerable youth and adults through a coordinated, recovery-oriented system of care. The Office of the Statutory Director (OSD) oversees CI applications, client pathways, navigation supports, and coordination with partners across the health, justice, and social sectors.
We are hiring two leadership roles that will help shape and operate this groundbreaking provincial program:

Associate Director, Navigation & Intake – Key Responsibilities:
As the Associate Director of Navigation & Intake, you will lead the OSD’s public-facing operations – the starting point for every client journey. Your team helps individuals, families, service providers, and referring parties understand the CI process and access appropriate supports.

As the Associate Director of Recovery Pathways, you will oversee the client journey after an Assessment Order has been issued, ensuring individuals receive coordinated, recovery‑oriented supports that align with Commission decisions and timelines.

University degree in Public Administration or a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Health Sciences, etc.), plus four (4) years of progressively responsible experience related to the role; or equivalent as described below.
