This role supports the design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable solutions across BMO digital channels and internal employee experiences using Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate, and Excel Macros. The candidate must have basic to intermediate Artificial Intelligence skills to adapt to rapid industry changes and enterprise level enablements of Artificial Intelligence related components. The incumbent applies disciplined solution design, strong front end build capability within the Power Platform, and a user centered mindset to improve how clients and employees engage with products and processes.

The role is accountable for end to end delivery, including leading teams, managing delivery details with the project team, ensuring operational stability for live solutions, and strengthening business continuity through resilient design and support practices.

Power Platform Solution Design and Development

  • Design and develop robust, scalable solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and Model Driven Apps, with emphasis on usability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability

  • Build, enhance, and support automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate, including approvals, triggers, integrations, exception handling, and monitoring

  • Leverage Excel Macros and VBA where required to support automation, data processing, and operational workflows

  • Develop solutions with business continuity in mind, ensuring applications are reliable, supportable, and resilient to change or failure

  • Decompose user stories into detailed design specifications and implementation tasks, ensuring delivery aligns to functional and non functional requirements

  • Write configuration and code, perform unit testing, develop documentation, and facilitate controlled deployment into production

  • Nice to have: Basic video production skills including screen recording, editing, and audio handling

Artificial Intelligence Enablement and Adaptability

  • Apply basic to intermediate Artificial Intelligence skills to adapt to rapid industry changes and enterprise level enablements of Artificial Intelligence related components within the Microsoft ecosystem

  • Maintain awareness of enterprise Artificial Intelligence governance and provisioning approaches relevant to Power Platform and Copilot capabilities, and incorporate applicable controls into solution designs where required

Leadership, Delivery Management, and Consulting Responsibilities

    • Lead or manage a team of Power Apps developers, providing direction, mentoring, and technical guidance

    • Develop robust solutions and manage delivery details with the team, ensuring milestones, dependencies, risks, and quality standards are actively tracked to support business continuity

    • Manage day to day workload, capacity planning, and task prioritization to meet delivery commitments and urgent business needs

    • Act as a consultant to business and technology partners by advising on solution options, trade offs, and recommended approaches

    • Coordinate closely with stakeholders to manage expectations, provide transparent updates, and resolve issues proactively

    Intake Assessment, Effort Estimation, and Upfront Risk Management

    • Initiate and lead assessment of new intake requests by clarifying objectives, scope, dependencies, constraints, and support considerations

    • Provide clear effort estimates, delivery timelines, and resourcing recommendations

    • Identify and call out potential challenges upfront, including technical complexity, governance requirements, data limitations, security considerations, and scalability risks

    • Present proposed solutions to leadership with clear rationale aligned to banking standards, cyber security expectations, optimal performance, scalability, and long term supportability

    User Experience, Design Discipline, and Standards

    • Provide guidance to business partners on design rationale, user experience considerations, and user centered design practices

    • Implement established design patterns, style guides, and accessibility requirements, while contributing to their continuous improvement

    • Deliver pixel accurate functional implementations aligned to UX and Visual Design specifications

    • Ensure consistent application of design system standards across Power Platform solutions

    Production Support, Operational Stability, and Business Continuity

    • Own and support production issues for live Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Power Automate solutions, including triage, investigation, mitigation, and resolution

    • Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions aligned to established incident and RCA practices

    • Ensure operational readiness through monitoring considerations, support documentation, and sustainable support models for solutions deployed into production, supporting business continuity outcomes

    Stakeholder Partnership and Continuous Improvement

    • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support planning, delivery, and sustainment of solutions

    • Analyze usage data, feedback, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities and inform future enhancements

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of Power Platform practices, standards, and delivery models

    Qualifications

    • Typically between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and a post secondary degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, or Graphic Design preferred

    • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices

    • Knowledge of, and interest in, coding accessible digital solutions aligned with AODA and WCAG 2.0 standards

    • Experience with front end development languages and technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

    • Strong understanding of User Experience and User Interface principles, best practices, and user research techniques

    • Demonstrated technical proficiency gained through education and or business experience

    • In depth verbal and written communication skills

    • In depth collaboration and team skills

    • In depth analytical and problem solving skills

    • In depth influence and stakeholder engagement skills

    • In depth capability in data driven decision making

    $75,900.00 - $141,900.00

    Ce qui précède représente la fourchette et le type de rémunération de BMO Groupe financier.

    Les salaires varieront en fonction de facteurs comme l’emplacement, les compétences, l’expérience, les études et les qualifications pour le poste et pourront inclure une structure de commissions. Les salaires pour les postes à temps partiel seront calculés au prorata du nombre d’heures travaillées régulièrement. Pour les rôles à commission, le salaire susmentionné représente la cible de BMO Groupe financier pour la première année au poste.
