We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Garbage Helper to join our waste collection team in Amherst. You’ll be responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient collection of residential and commercial waste, recycling, and compost materials. This is a physically demanding outdoor role that requires early morning starts, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and service. What's in it for you: $20.30 hourly Competitive hourly wage Monday to Friday 6:30am start time Weekly pay Fridays Duties: Ride on the back of a garbage truck and assist with curbside waste collection Lift and empty garbage, recycling, and compost bins into the truck Ensure safe and efficient collection along designated routes Communicate with drivers and team members to maintain smooth operations Follow all safety procedures CSA approved steel toe safety boots, hi vis safety vest, proper outdoor attire The successful candidate brings: Able to lift heavy items repeatedly Comfortable working in all weather conditions Reliable, punctual, and a team player Previous experience in waste collection or outdoor labor is an asset, but not required Need reliable transportation This posting is for an active opening.
