About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization within the public and community services sector, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Finance team on a short-term contract. This role has been created to support the implementation of a new budget management solution and the delivery of Q1 budget reporting during a critical planning period.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with finance leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to manage complex financial data, ensure reporting accuracy, and support system adoption. Your work will directly contribute to informed decision-making and the financial stewardship of programs that serve the community.

Your Responsibilities
- In this role, you’ll support the configuration and implementation of a new budget management solution.
- You’ll prepare, validate, reconcile, and migrate large volumes of historical and current financial data.
- You’ll perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and data inconsistencies.
- You’ll proactively identify system, data, and reporting issues and recommend practical solutions.
- You’ll support system testing, troubleshoot issues, and validate outputs to ensure data integrity.
- You’ll prepare, consolidate, and review Q1 budget reports for accuracy and completeness.
- You’ll document processes and contribute to standardized reporting templates and internal controls.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong technical expertise with budgeting systems and financial applications.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Experience with Power BI and financial reporting tools is an asset.
- Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and work independently under tight timelines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
- CPA designation preferred but not required, Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
