Pay Rates: $75-95/HR
Contract: 6 months with 6-month extension option
About the Opportunity
Our municipal government client is looking for a skilled Front-End Developer to design, develop, and implement high-quality user interfaces for large-scale web applications. This role offers the chance to work on impactful digital products that serve thousands of users while collaborating with a multidisciplinary IT team. You’ll play a key role in translating technical specifications into tested, accessible, and user-friendly applications.

Your Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, interactive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and frameworks such as Backbone, React, or Stencil.js
- Integrate REST APIs (JSON, XML) and secure authentication flows using OIDC with PKCE
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during software use, implementation, and migration
- Translate system specifications into working applications, including code, documentation, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate across the software development life cycle and ensure accessibility and best practices
- Conduct root cause analysis during outages and provide recommendations for fixes
- Maintain technical documents, architecture diagrams, and QA/UAT feedback
Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Single Page Application (SPA) development and API integration
- Strong background in front-end architecture, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, responsive frameworks, and social media APIs
- Experience working independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Post-secondary education in computer science or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to elicit and document requirements from diverse stakeholders
