The Senior Manager, Portfolio Analytics (GRM – RESL) is responsible for monitoring key risk performance indicators for the Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) portfolio and contributing to the development and enhancement of business intelligence and reporting tools. The role provides actionable, data-driven insights to Risk teams as well as product and business line partners. As a subject matter expert on the RESL portfolio, the incumbent delivers advanced analytics, portfolio monitoring, and risk measurement to assess portfolio health and ensure key risk metrics remain within the established Risk Appetite.Leveraging deep credit risk expertise and strong analytical capabilities, the incumbent identifies opportunities for sustainable growth within risk appetite, identifying areas (sub-product and client segments) requiring heightened attention through early warning indicators, and formulates actionable recommendations to mitigate emerging and existing risks.The role requires close collaboration with multiple stakeholders and partners across and outside of GRM, providing high-quality analytical insights supported by strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 Accountability 1 – Credit Risk Portfolio Analysis and Monitoring

• Leverage a range of Business Intelligence tools (ex. SQL, SAS, Python, PowerBI) to provide dynamic reporting on key performance metrics for stakeholders across GRM and business lines. Lead the development of new reports and continuously seek opportunities to streamline and enhance reporting workflows.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis to uncover portfolio, macroeconomic, and market trends across diverse retail lending portfolios. Translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling narratives that support informed credit risk decisions.
• Proactively provide strategic analysis that will assist in optimizing risk rewards ratios and grow the portfolio within risk appetite.
• Partner with strategy and policy teams to deliver measurement and reporting on key strategic initiatives, including acquisition quality, the impact of origination strategy changes on portfolio growth, and line optimization efforts.
• Analyze effectiveness of existing approaches using champion/challenger capabilities to validate assumptions, identify current or emerging credit risks relative to the risk appetite framework, and recommend appropriate mitigating actions.
• Maintain a forward-looking perspective to proactively identify emerging risks, enabling early intervention through targeted analysis and enhanced monitoring.

Accountability 2: Customer Focus

• Foster a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Embed the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture into day-to-day activities and decisions.

Accountability 3: Innovation

• Identify and pursue opportunities to apply advanced analytics, score modeling, and modern Business Intelligence tools to uncover portfolio dynamics, generate insights, and streamline processes.
• Drive the evolution from descriptive to prescriptive analytics by focusing on key drivers of portfolio risk and profitability, and by developing creative solutions to complex challenges
• Continuously expand knowledge of business and product strategies, market trends, competitive practices, and emerging analytical methodologies to deliver impactful, forward-thinking solutions to stakeholders

Accountability 4: Canadian Regulator, Internal Audit and Fraud Management Support

• Provide timely support for investigations and resolution of issues raised by OSFI, ensuring responses meet regulatory expectations and deadlines.
• Assist in addressing findings from Prefund Reviews and Internal Audits, ensuring appropriate and prompt resolution within agreed timelines.
• Liaise with the Fraud Department and Security and Investigations as required.

Accountability 5: Risk Appetite Framework alignment

• Ensure all business line strategic priorities (i.e. life-cycle KPIs, early warning triggers, provisioning, etc.) are consistent with Risk Appetite Framework. Recommend changes to business line strategies to ensure the Bank does not take on more credit risk than planned.
• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

• University degree in relevant STEM discipline or similar (i.e. Economics, Statistics, Business, Data Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Risk Management)

Experience (Must Have):

• 5+ years of analytical experience required including statistical analysis
• 2+ years of experience in Credit Risk Management
• Must be proficient in using SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI and/or Tableau for data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, Pivots, PPT, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, prioritizing, planning & problem-solving skills. Experiencing presenting to senior audiences.
• Project management and leadership skills to prioritize, manage and implement a variety of competing initiatives, on a concurrent or staggered basis

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Knowledge of Real Estate Secured Lending Product (Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) is a strong asset.
• Experience working in retail credit risk management
• 2+ years experience in Banking Industry or Monoline
• Working experience with Enterprise Data Lake (EDL), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Hadoop platform would be an asset.
