The Innovation, Privacy, and Stewardship (IPS) division is accountable for the Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy; innovation programs and governance; protection of personal information; enterprise information management and technology policy, training and awareness; business relationship management with partner departments; project management; and business reporting. Within the IPS division, Innovation, Partnerships and Governance (IPG) Branch supports Alberta’s innovators, researchers, businesses, and entrepreneurs by delivering programs and investments that drive economic growth, attract investment, and create jobs. The Branch leads innovation strategies and initiatives aligned with government priorities, including the Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy (ATIS), to strengthen research and innovation across Alberta’s key sectors and improve competitiveness.
Innovation Discovery and Collaboration Programs (IDCP) Unit builds Alberta’s innovation capacity by working with post‑secondary institutions, non‑profits, and industry. The Unit helps ensure the province has world‑class talent and modern research and innovation facilities that support growth and attract investment.
Reporting to the Manager, Discovery Programming, the Program Coordinator leads the transition toward modernized operations with a strong focus on grants management systems. This position safeguards the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of grant and performance data, ensuring funding processes remain transparent, compliant, and audit‑ready.
This role actively embraces Artificial Intelligence (AI) to strengthen system oversight and helps influence dashboards to showcase the success of Alberta’s innovation system, ensuring all programming and reporting align directly with the goals of the Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy (ATIS).
