Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Department: Internal Medicine

Location: Lake Country, BC

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00, depending on experience and skills.

Schedule: Shifts are designed to provide a consistent schedule, with 4 x 10-hour shifts, currently Monday to Thursday.

Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is excited to welcome a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to our team of skilled veterinary professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and support our board-certified specialist, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in a collaborative environment.   • Have completed a Veterinary Technician program, and are currently registered or able to register with the BCVTA.

  • Full Technologist Skill Utilization, Advanced Nursing Abilities

  • Calculate and Administer CRI’s

  • Confidence with anesthesia (including mechanical ventilators)

  • Perform epidurals and placement of central lines, urinary catheters, and nasogastric tubes

  • Procedural preparation and assisting with bronchoscopy, endoscopes, and more!

  • Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)

  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions.

  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.

  • Passion for learning more in the role.

Located in beautiful Lake Country, BC, VCA Canada Tri Lake is a full-service animal hospital featuring hybrid GP, ER, and Specialty services provided by veterinarians and board-certified specialists. We offer wellness and emergency care for cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, reptiles and other exotics. Our hospital is equipped with a full in-house lab, CT scanner, ultrasound, digital radiology suite, endoscopy and 24-hour staffing.
