About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established organization in the insurance sector, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Reinsurance Reporting team. You will join a close-knit team of four, working alongside a Manager, Analyst, and Director of Finance. This is a collaborative, back-office reporting environment where your analytical mindset and attention to detail will directly support financial integrity, compliance, and informed decision-making.

You will be part of a culture that values precision, accountability, and professional growth. The team offers mentorship, exposure to complex reinsurance reporting under IFRS 17, and opportunities to deepen your technical expertise.

Enjoy a flexible hybrid model that allows you to choose your on-site days, competitive compensation bonus potential, an employee share purchase plan with company match, pension and RRSP options, insurance discounts, and wellness-focused benefits from day one.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll analyze assumed and ceded reinsurance contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS 17.
  • In this role, you’ll prepare and review monthly and quarterly reinsurance accounting reports.
  • You’ll perform variance analysts and investigate billing and collection discrepancies, recommending action plans and process improvements.
  • You’ll collaborate with finance and operations partners to ensure systems and reporting reflect accurate contract data.
  • You’ll apply strong internal control and regulatory standards to support audit readiness and risk management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting within insurance or banking.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration, CPA designation considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices and reinsurance accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate results under deadlines.
  • Polished, detail-oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
