About the Opportunity

You’ll join a dynamic finance team within a leading public sector organization, supporting key accounting and reporting functions that keep operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll work closely with accounts receivable and accounts payable staff, providing guidance, performing analyses, and preparing reports that influence important financial decisions. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, transparency, and compliance of financial processes across the organization.

 

This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team in a highly regulated environment. You’ll engage with colleagues across finance, administration, and regulatory divisions, helping ensure financial transactions meet internal policies and government directives. Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll guide and support accounting staff in processing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions accurately and in compliance with policies
  • In this role, you’ll prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making purposes
  • You’ll prepare and maintain SOPs, ensuring processes are well-documented and continuously improved
  • You’ll support financial close deadlines, audits, and periodic reporting, providing clear and actionable insights
  • You’ll assist with settlements and sanctions orders, including reconciliations, analyses, and record keeping

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting, auditing, or finance-related experience, ideally with exposure to public sector or regulatory environments
  • CPA designation or in progress
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis; Workday ERP experience is a strong asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels
