About the Opportunity
Our client, a large public sector academic institution, is seeking a Strategic Advisor and Project Manager to support a Technology Alignment Task Force focused on strengthening institutional IT coherence. This engagement is designed to bring structure, clarity, and forward momentum to enterprise-wide technology priorities across a federated campus environment.

In this highly visible role, you will act as a strategic integrator, connecting governance bodies, IT service units, and academic and administrative partners. Your work will help translate institutional direction into practical roadmaps, unlock funding opportunities, and ensure that innovation across AI, cybersecurity, identity, and data initiatives moves forward in a coordinated and measurable way.

What’s In It for You
This is a unique opportunity to influence technology strategy at an institutional level while working in a flexible, part-time capacity. You will engage with senior leaders, contribute to high-impact planning conversations, and shape initiatives that advance digital trust and cybersecurity maturity.

Expect a collaborative environment that values thoughtful planning, cross-campus partnership, and strategic clarity. Your expertise will directly support decision-making at the executive level while strengthening alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll translate governance direction and CIO priorities into execution-ready operational work plans with clear sequencing and accountability.
• You’ll serve as a connector across governance structures, IT units, and institutional partners to strengthen coordination and collaboration.
• You’ll prepare executive briefings, alignment materials, and monthly summary reports outlining progress, risks, and decision requirements.
• You’ll develop and maintain a working group mapping matrix to ensure traceability between initiatives and institutional priorities.
• You’ll identify and prioritize quick-win initiatives positioned for funding, emphasizing feasibility, measurable value, and strategic impact.
• You’ll provide insight into provincial and national digital trust and cybersecurity ecosystems to inform partnerships and institutional positioning.

Skills and Qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic advisory, enterprise project management, or technology governance roles.
• Demonstrated experience operating within complex, federated public sector or post-secondary environments.
• Strong ability to translate high-level strategy into structured, actionable roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Experience preparing executive-level communications, briefing notes, and governance materials.
• Knowledge of digital trust, cybersecurity, AI, and data strategy landscapes in Canada.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and organizational alignment skills.
