About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about shaping positive workplace experiences and fostering strong employee relations? In this role, you’ll be at the heart of a dedicated HR team, providing operational guidance and advice on employee and labour relations matters. You’ll ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant application of policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation, while supporting investigations, grievances, accommodations, and other case management processes.

You’ll collaborate closely with managers, employees, and union representatives, helping to resolve complex issues and maintain a positive, productive work environment. Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll provide clear, practical guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, employment legislation, and collective agreements.
  • You’ll lead complex workplace investigations, from harassment and discrimination to performance issues, documenting findings thoroughly.
  • You’ll support grievance and arbitration processes, preparing research and documentation, and liaising with union representatives.
  • You’ll guide sensitive employment actions, including disciplinary measures, terminations, and workforce adjustments, ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • You’ll facilitate accommodations, attendance management, and return-to-work processes to support employee wellbeing.
  • You’ll contribute to policy development, process improvements, and organizational initiatives that enhance employee relations.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee and labour relations in unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labour legislation, grievance handling, and case management.
  • Proven expertise in conflict resolution, investigations, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • CHRP designation preferred; post-secondary education in HR or a related field required.
  • Eligibility for Secret-level security clearance; experience with background checks or out-of-country clearance is an asset.
