What you will be doing:

The Product Manager, Platform Operations is responsible for translating business, regulatory, and operational needs into effective dealer platform configurations and technology solutions. This role owns the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for operational platform capabilities, ensuring the dealer platform is configured to support Tangerine’s wealth business model, client journeys, and advisor workflows. Acting as both Product Manager and Business Analyst, the role bridges wealth operations, compliance, and technology—ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered with minimal operational risk and strong client outcomes. 

 

The Product Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the platform is fit‑for‑purpose, scalable, and aligned to a digital‑first wealth strategy, while maintaining compliance with CIRO regulatory requirements.   

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for wealth platform operational capabilities (e.g., account setup, trading workflows, transfers, cash processing, reporting, entitlements). 
  • Ensure platform functionality and configuration align with business strategy, advisor needs, and client experience objectives. 
  • Define clear product outcomes and success measures tied to operational efficiency, accuracy, and client impact. 
  • Act as the primary business owner for assigned platform domains, with accountability for end‑to‑end functionality. 
  • Lead discovery sessions with wealth operations, advisors, compliance, risk, and finance to elicit and document business requirements. 
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, detailed functional specifications for platform configuration and vendor delivery. 
  • Map current‑state and future‑state workflows, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for simplification or automation. 
  • Ensure requirements are traceable through design, build, testing, and implementation. 
  • Work closely with vendors and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and regulatory standards. 
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client needs, attitudes, and behaviors by analyzing feedback and operational data to enhance the investment client experience 
  • Oversee and optimize day-to-day processes for Tangerine’s dealer, including account opening, transfers, and money movement 
  • Collaborate with Client Experience, Marketing, Product, Compliance, and Technology teams to identify pain points and drive improvements in operational processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency to meet target volumes 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology transformation initiatives (e.g., ATON, Fund SERV), working closely with technology, operations, business, and architecture teams to automate and streamline investment operations. 
  • Partner with the data team to design and implement “Health of the Business” dashboards, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvement 
  • Work with the digital wealth product owner to ensure that in-app client journeys are operationally aligned, supporting faster, more accurate, and higher-volume processing for the back office. 
  • Lead business casing and build relationships in support of gaining support and the necessary resources to execute and product improvements. 
  • Build the case for the critical product success factors that will make our deposit products valuable to clients and profitable for the Bank. 
  • Use operational metrics, incident trends, and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities to improve platform performance and user experience. 
  • Drive simplification of workflows, reduction of manual effort, and improved straight‑through processing. 
  • Contribute to longer‑term platform strategy discussions, including vendor capability evolution and roadmap planning. 
  • Ensure dealer platform configurations support CIRO regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit expectations. 
  • Identify operational risks introduced by platform changes and partner with stakeholders to mitigate them. 
  • Maintain documentation of platform capabilities, configurations, and key operational processes. 
  • Support incident analysis by providing product insight into root causes and prevention strategies. 
  • Act as an investment operations SME for audit and compliance initiatives, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure updated product manuals, adherence to internal policies; regulatory obligations and deadlines are met according to plans. 
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on operational performance, transformation initiatives, and strategic plans 
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University Degree in Business or equivalent  
  • 5-7 years of product management or investment operations within a CIRO/IIROC dealer 
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale projects  
  • In-depth understanding of investment products, operational processes and the regulatory environment governing investments. 
  • Experience with digital technologies, financial products, e-commerce, payments, subscription businesses, or product design and transformation 
  • Familiarity with back office systems, technology platforms, and dashboard development is an asset 
  • End-to-end knowledge of wealth management various account types and experience building operational processes to support them is preferred 
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to enable and motivate a cross-functional team
