Location: Toronto, ON and Montreal, QC, On-site 5 days per week
Compensation:$155,000- $165,000 +variable compensation

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization within the packaging and industrial production sector, is seeking a Director, Finance to oversee financial operations across multiple Canadian sites. This is a highly visible leadership role where you will partner closely with site leadership and corporate finance to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and disciplined cost management.
You will work directly with General Managers, Operations, HR, and Shared Services to drive performance, strengthen cost controls, and standardize financial practices across facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who thrives in manufacturing environments and is comfortable being fully onsite and embedded within operations.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, supporting corporate consolidation requirements.
- In this role, you’ll oversee monthly inventory counts and ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory controls.
- You’ll prepare and review monthly financial reporting, including sales analysis, unit metrics, rebate accruals, job costing, and variance reporting.
- You’ll partner with site leadership to analyze key cost drivers and identify operational efficiencies.
- You’ll lead monthly performance reviews with site GMs, delivering clear financial insights and actionable recommendations.
- You’ll oversee CapEx financial management, ensuring projects align with budget and ROI expectations.
- You’ll collaborate with shared services teams to support month-end procedures, tax compliance, and credit management.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, cost accounting, and inventory management
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial analysis
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong financial modelling capability
- ERP experience required, Radius ERP or comparable systems preferred
- Bilingual in French and English required
- CPA designation is considered an asset
