Agilus is recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist in the oil & gas industry in Saint John, New Brunswick. The Project Controls Specialist will support the successful delivery of capital projects and annual Turnarounds at our refinery in Saint John, NB. The Project Controls Specialist will be developing project baselines, monitoring performance, managing cost controls, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting that enables safe, on-time, and on budget execution. Total rewards: $61.50 - $81.00 hourly *Please note that the rates indicated are intended for consultants engaged by their Ltd. or Inc. entities 24-month contract Preferred rates for benefit coverage available A typical day: Support the development of the project baselines including detailed costs estimates and P6 schedules Set up and maintain cost control tools from project initiation through close out Compile, validate and analyze cost data to produce accurate and timely project cost reporting to Project Managers, Portfolio Management and Leadership Facilitate the project Change Management process including field changes Analyze and evaluate progress and performance and assess impact on cost forecasts Review contractor and supplier quotes, identify variances, support the preparation of requisitions, and monitor status of purchase orders. Validate source data and ensure integrity of processes affecting project success such as project coding, budget allocation, A/R, A/P project transactions Perform financial reconciliations between project systems and financial systems Successful candidates will have: Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Trades or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in a directly related role Engineering, Construction or Project Management experience an asset Strong understanding of project control processes and procedures, and project stage gates Experience with ERP Systems, Primavera P6, Excel and Power BI Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to analyze cost and schedule data, identify drivers, and communicate insights clearly This posting is for an active opening.
