Agilus is recruiting for a Process Development Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry in Redwater, Alberta.
Join a leading refinery operation as a Process Study & Development Engineer, where you’ll lead process simulation, optimization, and conceptual engineering to support reliability, lifecycle, and improvement initiatives. You’ll play a key role in developing studies, troubleshooting, and advancing site-wide process performance.

$50.00 - $80.00 hourly

Max T4 pay rate $50/hr, up to $80/hr for incorporated
Responsibilities:
Develop engineering concepts and deliverables for reliability and improvement projects
Perform detailed process simulations to support studies and project development
Conduct heat and material balances and process calculations
Troubleshoot operational challenges and recommend optimization strategies
Monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams
Support new initiatives through modeling, analysis, and technical documentation
Maintain strong commitment to personal and process safety
Requirements:
Strong capability with spreadsheets and engineering calculations
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable seeking guidance when needed
P.Eng. designation in Alberta is an asset; Experience with ProMax, HTRI, or FRNC is an asset
Chemical Engineering degree
Minimum 5 years of refinery, upgrader, or petrochemical process engineering experience
Intermediate level expertise in process simulation (mandatory)
Hands on experience with tools such as Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II
Ability to quickly adapt to site specific simulation software
