About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization in the commercial real estate and property management space, supporting a portfolio of five commercial and mixed-use buildings in the Ottawa area. As a Building Operator, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and operating smoothly for tenants and visitors.
You will work closely with property operations leadership, day porters, and trusted contractors in a people-first, practical environment that values common sense, accountability, and teamwork. This role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who enjoys problem-solving, prioritizing on the fly, and being visible on-site.

Your Responsibilities
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned commercial office, retail, and warehouse properties.
You will coordinate and direct contractors, ensuring work is scheduled, prioritized, and completed efficiently.
You will respond to service requests and emergencies, triaging issues and resolving them quickly and effectively.
You will conduct regular building inspections focused on safety, maintenance, and operational standards.
You will manage service contracts including HVAC, janitorial, landscaping, and security services.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain compliance with regulations and company standards.
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of experience in building operations, facilities, maintenance, or a related hands-on role.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a multi-site environment.
Practical knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or life safety systems.
Confident communicator who can work directly with contractors and internal teams.
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle, mileage reimbursed monthly.
A proactive, go-getter mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
