Agilus is recruiting for a Piping Designer (SP3D) in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta. Join an ongoing contract on a several-billion-dollar oil sands program supporting JPMe Steam Generation/Utilities. You’ll lead heavy industrial piping design for water systems—including supported and underground pipe—using S3D. The role focuses on Steam Generation, Utilities, and Water Treatment scopes. Total rewards: $60.00 - $85.00 hourly Opportunity to work on a multi-year project with a large oil and gas owner. Preferred rates for benefit coverage available. Opportunity for extension or permanent placement. A typical day: Integrate Steam Generation, Utilities, and Water Treatment systems into the plant model. Perform routing, clash detection, and resolution with multi-discipline teams. Specify pipe supports, trenches, and underground details per codes and standards. Provide field/constructability input and resolve RFIs with engineering. Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and construction stakeholders. Maintain data integrity, revision control, and deliverables to schedule and quality. Produce S3D piping models and drawings for water systems (supported & underground). Develop layouts, isometrics, P&IDs alignment, and BOMs to project standards. Successful candidates will have: Expert S3D piping design experience in heavy industrial facilities. Proven design of water systems (supported and underground piping). Direct experience in Steam Generation, Utilities, and Water Treatment. Strong understanding of piping materials, specs, supports, and routing practices. Ability to read/interpret P&IDs, vendor data, and integrate into 3D models. Working knowledge of relevant codes/standards (e.g., ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8, company specs). Experience with clash detection, model reviews, and constructability. Effective communicator; able to collaborate in fast-paced, multi-discipline teams. This posting is for an active opening.
